1. If you go to the gym, go 3 days a week and spend 30-45 minutes in the gym. 80% of your time should be devoted to building lean muscle. Most people think that in order to get an amazing body that you have to go to the gym several days a week. This may be true for body-builders and athletes, but not for you and me.
The secret is that those 3 days you go to the gym MUST... BE... WELL... SPENT! In other words, don't go in spending a lot of time socializing, doing some weak workout that barely breaks a sweat, and definitely don't go in and skimp on building lean muscle.
Building lean muscle (especially compound movements such as squats, dead lifts, and bent over rows to name a few) will burn off your body fat quicker than cardio. The reason is very simple: Muscle burns fat... DURING your workout... and AFTER your workout (and this is because your body has to burn calories in order to repair muscle tissue)!
2. Now, if you want to stay at home and workout (which is of course much easier to do than going to the gym), then this is what I recommend you do to get incredible results at home...
Do body weight circuit training routines!
Body weight exercises will help build lean muscle, build flexibility, repair weak muscles and joints, strengthen your core, and so much more. Now, what if you could combine the benefits of building muscle with body weight exercises with also increasing your heart rate and melting away fat?
Well, you can!
Simply do body weight exercises in a circuit. It's very simple. You take X amount of different routines (let's say 4) and do them back to back in a circuit for X amount of repetitions for X amount of sets.
For example, you could do 10 push-ups, 20 mountain climbers, 10 body weight squats, and 10 leg raises for 4 sets with 30-60 seconds of rest in between sets.
This type of workout is ridiculously simple, lightning fast (10-15 minutes), very effective, you don't need equipment, you don't need to spend a fortune on fitness gear, and you don't have to worry about burning up a lot of gas commuting back and forth to the gym (I burn roughly $60 a month in gas with my big pick up truck going back and forth the gym... and my gym membership is $10 month... go figure!).

You DO NOT have to spend a ton of money on expensive health foods. You DO NOT have to spend a ton of money on fad diet programs. You DO NOT have to spend a ton of money on prepackaged meal programs.
You can get effective dieting that will help you drop those pounds, burn off fat quicker, build muscle, increase natural energy levels, decrease stress, improve the health of your digestive system, and more... WITHOUT spending a lot of money... only to end up frustrated, hopeless, and with no results in the end!
